This service is for families that are submitting a preadoption medical review for the first time. A summary of findings will be sent within 3-business days of form submission and payment. Summaries will be sent through the AMC Family Portal (https://adoption.ahc.umn.edu/family/). Follow-up and updates for this specific child will be continued with our team until a family obtains legal guardianship of the child.

This service is for families that have submitted 1 or more preadoption medical reviews in the past to the Adoption Medicine Clinic. Follow-up and updates for this specific child will be continued with our team until a family obtains legal guardianship of the child.

Pre-Adoption Medical Review, Expedited is for families, new or return, seeking an initial summary report of a preadoption medical review within 1-business day of file submission and payment. Summaries will be sent through the AMC Family Portal.
Please note: Those that request an expedited preadoption medical review on a Thursday after 3:00 pm (CT) or on a Friday can expect to receive a report summary the following Monday. Follow-up and updates for this specific child will be continued with our team until a family obtains legal guardianship of the child, however, follow-up questions will be reviewed within 3-business days of new file or question submission.

This applies from 3:00 pm (CT) the day prior to the weekend/holiday or on the weekend/holiday. Those seeking this service must connect with the reviewer on service to confirm availability. Post Placement Parent & Caregiver Coaching
Coaching with Dr. Kimara Gustafson is open to adoptive, foster or kinship parents & caregivers interested in learning how to create better alignment with their child. Topics that coaching can help address include but are not limited to; understanding the potential impact of early adversities, multiple caregiver transitions, prenatal exposures and trauma, helping you gain confidence and comfort in your parenting relationship with your child, helping you build your own inner strength and resiliency as a parent and caregiver, supporting your child in their positive identity development as an adopted or foster care person or supporting your child’s identity in a transracial/transcultural family.
